To help provide a First Class Tourist Information Service to visitors of this small but magnificent city.

 GUIDED WALKING TOURS OF WELLS

 "Hidden Gems & Heritage tours"  1 hour.

Wells is a compact city easy to explore on foot and we are delighted to offer 2 tours a week on market days (Saturdays and Wednesdays) at 11:00am

Tickets £4 per adult [children up to 16 free]. These can be booked at the TIC [Tourist Information Centre Tel: 01749 672 552].

 

 

 CYCLE PATHS -  "THE STRAWBERRY LINE"  

The Strawberry Line is a project backed by local Community Groups, Councillors and Senior Politicians with the aim of converting the old railway line from Clevedon to Cranmore into a network of safe paths for both walkers and cyclists, families and residents to enjoy.

See latest details at www.thestrawberryline.co.uk for cycle path news and progress on proposed lines in and near Wells.  The Yatton to Cheddar path is fully open whilst the Cheddar to Wells section is currently 'work in progress'.  You can  help make The Strawberry Line a reality by completing their online petition and supporting initiatives.

ON LOCATION IN WELLS In recent years the unique and historic city of Wells has proven to be popular with filmmakers, most notably it was used as the set for Elizabeth,The Golden Age and features prominently in the HIT comedy Hot Fuzz.

Hot Fuzz was written by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg, reuniting the creative force behind Shaun of the Dead; the cast includes Jim Broadbent and Timothy Dalton. Edgar Wright was a local Somerset boy educated at the Blue School in Wells.
